canon: DC Live action canon point: Post-1x13 Constantine canon cw: Possession, occult material, alcohol abuse, drugs, child abuse, child marriages, character death, blood/gore, Constantine manipulates everything and everyone, smoking, horror/jumpscares brief bio: A self described petty dabbler of the Dark Arts, John is a self-taught magician, con artist, and expert in the occult. Not to mention he is British to the core. Drinks hard, chainsmokes, is no stranger to drugs, fights demons, and argues the rules of the Almighty to Heaven itself. John fights evil on his own terms, regardless of the personal cost, but ultimately struggles with the fact his soul is damned to Hell. relationship status: Single* - *was in the process of growing attached to one Zed Martin. apparent age: 35 (b. may 10, 1979) (adjusted birthday from comics) appearance: John is 5'11" (actor's height), blonde, brown eyed, and extremely British. He wears a long tan trenchcoat with a white shirt, black pants, and red/black ties. He has a medium build with no real muscle bulk. The most definable things for John are his trenchcoat and the cigarette he usually has in his mouth. identifying marks; John has a series of tattoos over his body that are presumably magical in nature. Triangle on the back, Celtic design on the arm, markings on the inside of his left forearm and writing down his side. mental state: John is mentally stable at the end of the series. Emotionally, however, he is at a peak of wanting to throw fists with evil. He'll always make horrible choices for himself and those involved, but now he is willing to manipulate things to meet an outcome he feels is justified - even if Heaven doesn't agree. He won't want to be close to people or form relationships. ABILITIES - Magic. John has an incredible range of magic that can basically get him out of the binds he needs. It doesn't always work, and it doesn't always get the answer he is looking for, but he is capable of the following: Exorcisms, protective seal creation/dispelling, necromancy, summoning entities/demons, a range of magical protection spells, manipulation of items, dispelling of cloaking spells, glamour spells, astral projection, sleeping spells. - Ancient Languages. John knows spells or recognizes several languages: - Hebrew, Mayan, Enchocian (language of the angels), Latin. - Occult knowledge. He has a range of knowledge from various living and dead cultures. - Fighting. In line with the comics, John rarely gets the upper hand with fighting. Most often or not when he throws a punch he ends up flat on his face, bruised, and usually bleeding. • Changes for the Village settings: + Spell Difficulty. John isn't the most skilled magician, as he had no real formal training. His magic will have a lower chance to succeed, depending on what it is. Dispelling/revealing spells will be harder to perform and cast, draining his energy with the chance to knock him out if the spell is too big. Protection spells will be considerably weaker and easier for spooky things to break. Summoning entities will result in a no answer from them (unless cleared by mods for plot reasons). + Exorcism. Going with the traditional ideas of needing to know the name of the entity and what religion/faith it responds to, John is going to be completely unable to perform this properly until he has reached the right knowledge level. Even then, depending on how powerful the entity is, John may not even be able to properly remove said entity without damaging the host, himself, or others near by. + Misfire. Low level spells like sleeping ones or small explosions have a chance to not work entirely. Much to his annoyance. IC PERMISSIONS physical affection: John isn't always touchy-feely, especially if he is aware of someone having magic or abilities that are touch sensitive. He'll generally only get this way once he is comfortable around someone. flirting: Yes. He will flirt with anyone if he finds they catch his fancy. relationships: Open to it! John has several failed relationships in the comics and a handful in the tv show. They can either be romantic related or simply buddies with benefits. Both will work for him. sex: Yes. Definitely. He's up for it 100%. I typically only write smut with a handful of people though, so it'd be a cut to black. fighting: He is horrible in a fist fight, but he'll definitely either get in them or pick them. He can be roughed up as needed! injury/death: John gets himself injured constantly and near death a few times. As long as it's plotted out and fine on both sides and the mods, let's do it. Knock down that sanity meter. psychic information: John typically has several magic protections, but those will be weaker in The Village. Even with them though, Zed Martin is shown to be able to gather his emotional state and mental state by just touching him. He'll do his best to close himself up, but, I'm totally fine with people glancing certain things off him. triggers: - CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL LIST. I have no issue with playing John having his buttons pressed. It happens often in canon, and he reminds himself of them all the time. As long as both parties are alright with delving into his mental state about them, let's go for it. OOC PERMISSIONS time zone: PST rp style: I am pretty sporadic thanks to my two jobs.
